Technology
ViPS utilizes a wide variety of techniques to gather information for an investigation. They can range from personal experiences to scientific techniques. ViPs also use a wide range of equipment to gather information to aid during the investigations.
Some of the various pieces are:
- digital 35mm cameras and camcorders
- digital recorders and wireless microphones
- infrared thermometers
- infrared closed circuit televisions
- geiger counters
- ghost boxes
- trifield meters
- EMF meters
- K2 meters
- compasses
ViPS continues to acquire the latest technology.
Definitions (from Answers.com):
EMF (electromagnetic field) meters: a scientific instrument for measuring electromagnetic radiation.
Infrared thermometers: an instrument that focuses and detects the infrared radiation emitted by an object in order to determine its temperature.
Infrared closed circuit televisions (CCTV): any application of television that does not involve broadcasting for public viewing; the programs can be seen only on specified receivers connected to the television camera by circuits, which include microwave relays and coaxial cables. Abbreviated CCTV.
Geiger counters: a detector of ionizing radiation. When a fast-moving charged particle traverses a Geiger-Müller counter, an electrical impulse is produced. These impulses can readily be counted by electronic circuits. Geiger-Müller (GM) counters, usually referred to simply as Geiger counters, are widely used to indicate the presence and intensity of nuclear radiations.
Ghost boxes: a electronic system, or method of spirit communication, also known as instrumental trans-communication, or ITC.
K2 meters: this device is a standard EMF meter but it uses lights to indicate the energy instead of a needle, flashing and then finally staying lit at the level found with the meter.
Trifield meters: a device that combines magnetic, electric, and radio/microwave detection for fast, reliable measurements of electromagnetic pollution.
